Am I doing it right?

Hello,I'm sorry to bother you with a silly question,but I would be greatful if somebody would take the time to answer,I've been trying to do an exercise called the four-fold breath,the book I've been reading say that it's related to yoga and that it calls for four short,quick inhalations,followed by four short quick exhalations,so I've been taking four deep breaths quickly,and than exhaling four times quickly,am I doing it right?

And are you supposed to breath through your nose? or your mouth? or both? or does it even matter?

exhaling through mouth is make comfortable it helps me calm and mentally focused because it can push the air out of my body easily, after you take a deep inhale.

what i mean is, just dont force your self to breath out through your nose or mouth it doesn't matter, just choose where you are comfortable.
