( I don't have too much information about her, but this is what I've found)

~The Morrigan

The Morrigan is an Irish/Celtic goddess of war. She is also associated with magick, revenge, and the night. The Morrigan can be depicted as a trio of goddesses, being the same woman in different ages, though she is also known to be a lone figure also. She is also known to be a shape-shifter, usually forming into a raven or crow. The Morrigan is also thought to be able to choose which soldiers were going to die on the battlefield.

Ooh! I've read about the morrigan before when i was trying to find gods and goddesses to do with crows and the morrigan came up. She's a rather interesting figure thoigh i don't remember a lot about her. One thing i know is that because she's in her trio, some use the three of them to resemble the triple moon maiden, mother and crone. Her sisters are Babd and Macha which are part of the whole one body three minds thing. The Morigan is the Crow Goddess. That's all i remember amyways.

The first tiem I've ever heard of the Morrigan was in the Last Apprentice books. She sounds pretty interesting. I also heard that she looks after people who practice the occult.

Morrigan, Morgan le fey, and Morgause are all the same deity. She is actually King Arthur's half-sister. She along with Merlin, Arthur, and others are in Arthurian legends and are members of the Celtic Pantheon.

Nice post Hysteric. Morrigan is a Goddess I've always admired. For some reason she reminds me of Hekate, from the Greek Pantheon. And that's probably because she's also a dark goddess -and- a triple goddess. I would like to add a few things here if you don't mind.

Morrigan has been known by many names throughout Ireland, Britain and Wales, such as Morrigu, Morgain, Morgan and The Morrigan . She has also been given many titles, including the Lady of the Lake and the Goddess of Water and Magick . They have called her the Phantom Queen, the Goddess of War, Fate and Death and the Goddess of Battle, Strife, and Fertility, as well as a Moon Goddess, the Queen of the Fairies, the Goddess of Rivers, Lakes and Fresh Water, and the Patroness of Priestesses and Witches. See the resemblance here? Hekate is also considered to be the Goddess of Witches or rather the Goddess of Witchcraft. There are people who both fear her and admire her, and it is only right and proper that they do, because this amazingly powerful goddess is The Morrigan, the Celtic Goddess of War.

What about her aspects?

She has been associated with many things, including revenge , the night , magick and prophecy , and she has also, on occasion, been associated with female energy , and with the immense strength with which it can come bursting forth. She has frequently been depicted standing on a battlefield holding two spears, and it is well known that she used her magick as a way of gaining victory, rather than by fighting battles to win a war.

She was a shape-shifter , who would usually take on the form of a raven or a crow. She was also known as a protectress, having the unique ability to draw upon a persons inner strength, and then empower that person to confront his or her own challenges; frequently causing them to use every bit of that strength to face insurmountable odds.

Hekate now, is also a triple goddess. She is honouredas a Dark Goddess, although it would be incorrect to refer to her only as anaspect of the Crone, because of her connection to childbirth and maidenhood. It's more likely that her role as dark goddess comes from her connection to the spirit world, ghosts, the dark moon, and magic. She is known as the Goddess of witches and of magic, the dark of the moon, and the depths of the underworld. She walks along the roadways and counsels those at the crossroads. Of all the Greek Goddesses, Hekate alone could grant or refuse anything asked by mortals. Hecate is the voice of wisdom, divination and dreams. She is known as a goddess who is not to be invoked lightly, or by those who are calling upon her frivolously. She is honored on November 30, the night of Hecate Trivia , the night of the crossroads.

A wonderful book I have read about Hekate isTara Sanchez's "The Temple of Hekate - Exploring The Goddess Hekate Through Ritual, Meditation And Divination".
