I believe Mirrors can be portals to other dimensions or into past lives.
I've seen the same thing you've talked about. It scared me so much, that I didn't look into a mirror for a couple days unless needed to. Then I sealed it with a pentagram.
I've seen spirits inside of mirrors, and I'm not sure really how to explain it.
But don't worry, you aren't alone. if you feel threatened, seal the mirror by drawing a pentagram over it with a wand or athame

Mirrors can be more like vessels than portals. But I do know that some witches use mirrors to create portals for spirits to enter/exit. Mirror magick is very old, it has been used as a way to scry since ancient times.

When I was younger I would use a mirror to see inside the doorways of dark rooms and could see the details of spirits more easily than with my eyes alone. I never learned how to do this from a book, I just realized from a young age that the reflection worked. Don't try this if you get easily freaked out!

If you see something in a mirror that shouldn't be there, it is time to clear, cleanse, and protect that mirror and banish anything inside. Especially if your reflection changes in a distorted or sinister way. Images behind you are more likely to be outside sources. But if they form in front or over your reflection, odds are, it's in the mirror.

Scrying is a form of psychology. In most cases the person can see an old face to emerge. The face looks wrinkled and dull. What you see is the subconscious. Maybe its a fear of becoming weak and ill, Im not sure.
But traditionally it is a way to make contact with the dead.

Okay... the mirrors can be portals and transport you any where but there are also creatures that live and are stuck in the portals. Becareful because things can posses you or something might come out and haunt you.

Really ashnight? Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I can't walk through a mirror without quite a lot of nasty cuts. This isn't Sabrina the Teenage Witch and we can't just jump into a mirror. ASTRALLY perhaps a mirror or two has a portal created in it.

Creatures live in mirrors? What sort of creatures? Are they cute and cuddly like pokemon? =P

So the spirit...or "creature" just sits in this mirror and then jumps out and possesses you? I don't know what you have in your mirrors but I don't have creatures in mine, nor have I ever been possessed.

I would use mirrors for scrying, and agree that we can see deeply into ourselves by focusing on our faces in a mirror. It is possible to see spiritual beings in other parts of a mirror, especially in early relationships with such a being :)

only thing that scares me is a mirror box its hard to make but essentially the scientific thing it makes is a 3d shadow

you need 6 panels 1 bottom 4 sides 1 top all covered with the same mirror surface, you need a simple electronic light source that you can place on one of the corners (not on flat surface) a ladder and preferably socks...dont mess up mirrors. PM me ill go on if your curious
