Writers' Block

Hello. As some of you might already know I am Rockin Mordor. Today I come to you from both my personal experience, but also from what I have seen from others. As of late there seems to be a metaphorical blockade diminishing or hindering the thought process when it comes to writing. Writing in all aspects. Now, to get where it has to do with magic or this site, well it's getting difficult for me and others which I know upon this site to post. It is like we have an idea of what to write, but when we get to the page it is as if our mind goes blank and we stare at the screen with a loss of words and ambition. My question is this; how can we break this annoying dam preventing us from teaching and helping others with new information? I personally want to help more and bring more to the table, however, there's this nasty blockade that just seems to stop me from getting the words out. How does one gather or regain their inspiration and motivation?

Thanks.

- Mordor

You have just posted eleven lines of print. What do you mean by a "block"?

Block as in trying to get the words out, but it's as if they won't form from your finger tips. For instance posting on a particular topic, you have the words and experience in the area, but when you go and try to respond or write something anew it's as if your mind goes blank metaphorically speaking. Like you just can't write. Sorry if my wording seems confusing I'm trying my best to explain.

But you are using words that only apply to you. yet you write "you" and "yours". It would be clearer if you wrote "I have a block!", and not that "you have a block". Yes, I know, the English language is very difficult. Most people in England would use the word "one". One cannot find the words; one may have a block.

Well if you have writers block, why not try a couple tips?
_______________________________________
*Write down your words that you think of, jot down small ideas.

Think of your sources, if any, list them. English is a heard language, one of the hardest to learn, by far!

I suppress the words, sometimes i don't think my words are smart enough, ect.

A few ways are to type little words, and think of flowing thoughts.

Ex: Ostara
Ostara is the spring equinox. It is from march 21 till 23. It is a time of joy, and the first day of spring.

Why that may be nice, but what about writing basic information, reread it, and type edit from there.

Ex edit:
Ostara is origanally associated with spring. It is a holiday in the gregorian, or, celtic calendar that is from the range of March 21-23, all depicting on the Sun's precise movement.

See what i mean? Use what you have, edit. Good luck.

I wold personally take a walk and just relax. Sometimes what is needed would be a clear mind and relaxation.

It is, of course, different from writer's block that comes from either a contradiction in the premise (you have an idea for a character and an idea for a plot, but the character can't make the plot move unless they act out of character, or the plot has to change) causing this inner impasse or paralysis; and there's writer's block from lack of motivation and ennui or something.

But I had the kind of writer's block that you're describing. It turned out to be a symptom of depression.

Sometimes the ideas just don't connect to words anymore, or sometimes people just occasionally forget the word for a thing (and some unlucky people forget the words for every noun and verb in a sentence that they need to form in order to express a thing, but the concept is still alive in their minds of course.)

So...it happens. Sometimes, it's just meant to, like giving your mind a break and waiting for the clarity to come back. Maybe it's your sleep patterns, mineral or vitamin deficiency, or not enough fresh air and sunlight. If it gets to be a real problem, though, you might want to see someone about that.
