So, I was wondering...
Is a potion like a basic magick? Do I need to be experienced in spell casting to make a potion? I'm a newbie and I'm interested in potion making. Do I need to charge anything with my energy?
How do I make a potion?
Do I select herbs that have the properties that I want and boil them in water? Do you drink a potion or apply it on your body? Please! I'm really interested in potions and I want to learn how to make them!
well, i know almost nothing about making potions, however i would say never drink or eat anything until you know everthing about it because so many herbs are very poisiness! and you could mostly likely die!
I don't know much, but really you should look into the magickal propeties of certain herbs that relate to your objective or interest. I say really just study intensly every ingredient and method you use to make your potions in order to be confident and secure in them.

Potions are not necessarily a form of magic; however, they can be charged with a specific purpose while you are making them. A potion can also be called a tea, a tincture, or a brew. Teas are made by steeping herbs in hot water, as are brews. Tinctures are made by slow soaking of herbs in an alcohol base such as vodka.
If you are interested in making your own teas I would suggest the following books:
"The Complete Book of Incense, Oils and Brews" by Scott Cunningham
"Magical Herbalism" by Scott Cunningham
"Herb Magic for Beginners" by Thea Sabin
And always remember that some herbs are poisonous so always be sure to read thoroughly about any herb you are considering ingesting before you decide to put it in your mouth. If you find a book on herbs that does not contain warnings of what herbs are safe and what are not, then it isn't a good book to be working with.
