I have need to perform a love contact spell that I read about. The Moon is currently waxing, but I need to perform this spell now. So will it work if I do it now? Should I wait till the New Moon and What spells should you do during the New Moon?

Well, if you follow the moon phases, the waxing moon is indeed perfect for doing a love spell. You should do it now.

For the full moon, it is a powerful energy for rituals of prophecy, divination and protection. Any spellwork that requires extra energy, such as finding a new job or healing serious conditions, is best begun during the full moon. The full moon is also for love, gaining sacred knowledge, legal matters, attracting money and prophetic dreams.

Hope it helps!

As Amora mentioned, spells are effected by the energy of the Moon and that energy is matched to the particular phases of the moon.

A "Waxing" moon lasts from the New Moon to the Full Moon and is good for spells of increase such as bringing desired things into your life. So prosperity, love, etc are best done during the waxing moon.

A "Waning" moon lasts from the Full Moon until the Dark Moon and is good for spellwork to banish things from your life such as bad habits, bad luck, etc. It can also be good for healing rituals to banish something such as a tumor.

The moon is very important when it comes to casting spells, because when you cast spells on a full moon the moon adds more energy to the spells whic gives it a possible chance of working.
