Reoccurring Dreams

more like reoccurring themes in my dreams, but whatever. since i was a child, i've have similar dreams, and my reoccurring dreams happen more annually than daily. recently they have returned, when i have them they are extremely vivid and i can't get them out of my head throughout the day. while i have interpreted them, i'm wondering if there isn't some deeper meaning to them.

the first is i'll be in a large old house, normally dimly lit. as the dream progresses, i'll notice someone or something, and while i don't feel fear, i decide i should sneak away unnoticed. with each new dream, i learn of new places, so now that i'm older, i know in every house there is a crawl space that is so dark i can't see anything [cept for the times light comes through cracks] so with each passing dream i'm less frantic trying to find these hidden crawlspaces/halls/stairways that are all hidden behind walls/bookshelves/floors. eventually i can hear whatever it is coming after me. i eventually wake up before getting out, or i meet up with someone and i go into another dream.

the second one perplexes me more however, is this guy. since childhood i remember this guy, i can never remember his face [because it's normally in shadow] but as i've grown up so has he. now he's in his early 20's but when i first dreamt of him he was a little kid. he will show up when i need help in my dreams, or i'm alone and observing things, he will come over to me, kiss me, then take me by the hand and help me. for the past week and a half he has been in my dreams, last night he told me this will never work, then i kissed him. we said quietly for a bit then he kissed me and said i was waking up, to which i did.

i know you should not be consumed with fantasy, which is why i'm asking for some help, since all i can do the next day is replay the dream in my head. anyone know what they could mean, especially this man? all i can tell you is he's got pouty lips. everything else either changes [clothes/ages] or i've never seen [nose/eyes]

the first one i'm running from a waking fear, but i know what the problem is, so i'm working on slowly facing it and succeeding.

the guy i'm at a total loss, when i was younger i thought he was suppose to be the person i could think of when i wanted a boyfriend but didn't have one. but i've had a couple boyfriends and i still have dreams about him, so i don't know.

Perhaps hes watching over you. A guardian spirit? You said hes usually helpful. Maybe its a God contacting you. Or it could be something inside you haven't realized yet or released.

they feel like memories, i can close my eyes and walk through them once again. i know they mean something, it's the what. it's also him. maybe it is a spirit, though i don't know why it would contact me in my dreams. he's also seemed like a person, i remember when we first met, and he changed like any person would. there was a time when i was in my early teens he wasn't very nice, he was never mean to me, but if in my dream i was with someone, he would act strangely, like make threats, or try to pick a fight. the dream last night, however, i was at a bar with a friend, and he came over acting like it was no big deal. so i've always felt that he was real, but that's just me. i figured out many years ago that's just a kid's wishful thinking because when we were little we would play together, he didn't start the random kiss when we met until i was 15 or so.

You say the cloths change with him? Era specific? Could be past life. Maybe an old flame. And kisses can be greetings.

When there is a certain odd place we constantly go to in our dreams it is usually a real place within our own mental realm. You can journey there while awake and try to investigate it more indepthly. I know I have three, one is a warehouse, one is my childhood home (that sometimes gains aspects of my other past and present homes) with an expanded basement and the other is an outlandishly large school with huge ceilings and wide very large staircases (like what you would see in a mansion). The scenarios always change, but the places are the same and they are very familiar. I know my way around them well. In each scenario I am always trying to figure out how to solve a problem, most of the time there is an enemy but I always figure out how to allude it or defeat it. Since I usually feel accomplished, I never feel the need to investigate it more indepthly as you may wish to.

As for the second dream. A possible theory in a psychological perspective is that this person is a part of you (which is why he grows up with you). Many say that when we find love, we search for someone that completes us. But we too have many sides to ourselves that make us complete. Perhaps, this is a fragment of yourself, your shadow self (hence why you do not see their face). Or perhaps you do not see their face because you cannot accept that this is in fact you as well. You wish to embrace it yet cannot bring yourself to unite, therefore this side of you feels it can never be with you. Parts of ourself don't always give us "truth" but a look into our own subconscious fears or problems. For instance a part of you that has retreated due to a tramatic experience may tell you that it can never leave and tell you that the world is full of nothing but evil people that will hurt them. You may even see demonic looking beings chasing this person (part of you) as it acts out these fears. This gives you an idea as to why that part of yourself is "hiding" and indicates how to help yourself to be complete again. Obviously in my example, the inner demons must be conquered and the person would need to find a good support system of people they can trust and feel secure with so that they can affirm that everyone isn't out to hurt them.

thank you, that makes sense. i'm going to try and return there while meditating. the boy could be an aspect of myself, i just never thought that because my male and female selves are rather balanced [in my opinion] but you do have a point.
