Hello, I am Aldebaran. I am just starting to take my first steps into the world of magic users. I figured that it would be a good idea to join this site, talk with others and learn more about the occult arts, rather than go it totally alone. I consider myself to currently be a gray wizard as I feel that to understand white magic, one must know dark magic and vice versa. It is my hope that through the magical arts, I will better myself and gain insight in my understanding of myself and indeed the universe in which we live.

I am an earth element, which makes sense considering my love for geology and paleontology. Indeed, I have a decent rock and fossil collection and belong to a rock and mineral club. If I have a secondary element, I'd say it's water. I've always held a deep love for the ocean, indeed a trip to the beach is a spiritual experience for me, one I feel I must make every few months to recharge.

I absolutely love dragons as well. Initially this was sort of a splinter interest from my fondness of kaiju [giant monsters] , some of which, such as the gold scaled 3 headed dragon King Ghidorah, are dragons. This facination has matured and developed over the years into something more though. When I see a dragon, be it eastern or western, I see strength, power, and great nobility and wisdom.

As for everthing else, my favorite music is symphony as well as classic rock with my favorite composers being Strauss II and Akira Ifukube and my favorite bands being Black Sabbath, AC/DC, and Molly Hatchet. My favorite shows are Doctor Who, Mysteries at the Museum, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Wilfred, and Red Dwarf. My favorite movies are Gojira, Destroy All Monsters, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Last, my favorite books are Dune, The Harry Potter Series, Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, Hiroshima, and Alas Babylon.

I hope to learn much here and eventually be able to contribute something myself.
