I have a gothic grimoire tarot deck. Has anyone else seen this deck or know of a certain way to read it. I know what all the card themselves mean but this being a dark deck was wondering if people has opinions on how to interpret some of the drawings?

If a deck doesn't resonate well with you, then choose another deck. However, give the deck some time. Study the philosophy behind it. You can usually find information like that in the booklet that comes with it.

I bought my fiance a darker-themed deck a while back. At first, It didn't resonate well with me. It felt cold and sad, which messed with my ability to read under general circumstances. However, once I read the philosophy behind the metaphor of the deck -that being blood representing the Great Spirit/Universe/Life- I held a greater appreciation for the deck. Now, it's one of the only two I read from on a regular basis.

Bottom line, give it some time. Study it thoroughly. Try it during different emotional phases. You might find it will resonate better with particular readings. If so, use it during those sort of readings. Hell, you might be like my fiance and find out it resonates well with you all the time - if so, then you'll realize it'll speak to you. Study it.

Read the booklet that comes with it. And listen to your intuition.

The Tarot of the "Vampyres" was the one I referred to. The interpretations definitely were a little off for me until I understood the spirituality behind the deck better. Then the deck resonated well with me and the interpretations were spot on. I suppose it depends on yourself and how you view the theme in question. A light-hearted, Fairy-loving person's interpretations from a darker, almost macabre-themed deck would be quite off, theoretically.

And I totally agree with you on the inability of being accurate while being agitated. I believe our ability to analyze energy vibrations are easily blurred by overpowering vibrations; i.e. Anger, Frustration, Agitation, etc.
