Ancient Alchemy

Looking for some discussion on alchemy. It seems to me that much of the older alchemy was more poetry than real world chemistry.

But . . . . I don't know much.

Aside from herbal lore and aromatherapy is there much use for old alchemy?

Alchemy was, and still is, a search for knowledge. It was experimenting with all sorts of materials. But the knowledge of ancient times was what was known then! Humanity has advanced since then; and it keeps on advancing. We know things now that were unheard of in ancient times. There is far too much talk, these days, that "it must be good because it is very old".
A hundred years ago the most educated people on Earth would have poured scorn on anyone suggesting building a laboratory in space.
But what do you know? The International Space Station passes in front of my house every 90 minutes!

Actually it passes my house only twice in a day; 90 minutes apart.

I believe, and this is my view through my studies,That the story's that people can turn anything into gold was the very clever blinder that folks practicing this path said it was to confuse non initiates,It seems that many people fell for it and really did spent their lives foolishly trying to spin gold like rumplestilskin
Alchemy seems to be that "We"are the "materials"and the goal is to turn ourselves into spiritual and Magickal perfection so we are the "Gold".Now as I said, this is what I took out of my studies,And I only study this topic In passing,I am in no way a student of Alchemy,So yes,Brysing would be right on this as well
Because he who acquires Knowledge of the workings of the world and of one's true self, has truly made themselves into Gold.

Not quite. One of the greatest Alchemists in history was Sir Isaac Newton. A devout Christian who had nothing to do with the occult. And he did a lot more than discover Gravity!

Read his life and work. All the laws of physics and movement are due to Newton. He invented the modern optical lenses we use today. He discovered what colour is.He is "the father of modern mathematics". And there is a lot more!

To Every action there is a reaction! That was him.
The man was a genius,Many books out their on His life are worth reading,When studing the arts as we do we need to also read about science, history, art etc,For instance Ben Franklyn in His personal life was actually at a point a Satanist in the Hell Fire club
It was always thought of as mere rumors until in the 1900s or so whole renovations were being done on his Home on Philadelphia they found Human remains of 15 people,1200 Human Bones
6 full people,3 boys and 3 adults in a small unknown room built under his flower garden,There were most likely human sacrifices for a satanic cult he belonged to,while on the other hand he wrote his own edition of the Bible for his own use..A lot of historic figures dabbled in Occult practices and still do behind closed doors

Haven't heard that Ben Franklin was a Satanist. I'm sort of interested in this sort of thing. What more can you tell me?
