Fae is another term for fairy. They are spirits with close ties to nature and are not always perfectly nice like Tinkerbell. You may encounter Fae through normal encounters in life or you can summon them. They enjoy offerings like small trinkets such as bells or shiny beads, you can attract them by growing certain flowers or even an entire Fairy Garden, but even if you manage a relationship with the Fae Folk they are not to be treated as tools in your magick, they are spirits, and should be highly respected.

The fae (pronounced "fay") are magickal beings of nature. It is a word commonly used in British and Irish folklore. In Italy they are called "fata" (the fates). And in Cherokee. lore, they are the Little People (Yunwi Tsunsdi) and Immortals (Nunnihe).

Simply, they can be considered elves that range from 6" to normal human height. They are considered to "live" far longer than any human being (to those who felt they were physical magical beings) or are immortal. They are spirits but have a tendency to be very capable of manifesting.
