Magick isn't the best way to go around getting revenge on someone. All your actions have consequences, and magick is no exception. Where I would respect your decision if you still decide to 'curse' or otherwise harm this person with magick, I would strongly advise against it.
As an alternative, after you have become adept in the basics, you could learn a few protection techniques to help keep you and your girlfriend safer. (keep in mind that protection spells or seals aren't going to keep you completely safe forever. They only help)

If someone would like to counter what I said, please do, I'd hate to give someone inaccurate advice.

Hello;
I half recalled a book on revenge many years ago. I could not recall the title exactly. Call around the bookstores. Ask if there is a book on revenge. And then, just go there and peruse the book to get some ideas. You don't have to buy the book. Or, I googled "revenge books." There are several website listed. However, one of the easiest methods I found to get revenge on a guy was to write "a lie" about him on a restroom wall he and his friends frequent i.e.; So and so is a f_g_t, I saw him etc., If it gets cleaned off, write another. Try to have it there for at least a month. Of course, don't be seen doing this.
Don't do this on purpose. This is devastating. Only if you have been initiated an attack for no fault of your own. Also, know this;
In the Bible there is a statement for revenge;
An eye for an eye. It DOES NOT state; An eye for an eye AND a LEG or, an eye for a LIFE! It's about equal justice. You do more harm than you should, and you are in for a world of hurt. Karma will surely swoop down on you and PUNISH YOU three-fold.
Hope this helps. Blessed Be.

Yea;
It's a sad day in life that we have to resort to revenge in order to get someone to back-off and let them know how it feels to get harmed for no good reason.
Blessed Be.

Karma is a belief-based force, if he does not believe his action's have consequence's, Karma has no power.

I think Pagan's advertise Karma, and the 3-fold-rule because we want to know, if we ever slip up, we will face our consequence's

If, that is the case then, criminals, thieves and vandals, would not be caught, and there would be no jails nor prisons. Also, there would be no Police, there would be no traffic tickets. Karma works, whether you want to think it does not.
Also, every time we step outside the door, we work on hope and faith(belief)same as belief in Karma. We hope for a good day, synchronocity, a lucky day. We hope not to have an accident, not be ticketed, to be on time, not to be mugged, nor to get into a fight, the list goes on and on. So you see, your reasoning is a fallacy. karma is very real.
Ok, so "bad things happen to good people" too, huh? I think the balance is shifted more to the "bad things happen to bad people."
Lastly, Karma really has to do with 1. The sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.
2. Destiny or fate, "following as effect from cause."
Following as effect from cause is how Wiccans use the term Karma.
You get it? Cause and effect? Cause - Do something bad, Effect -you get punished here or by Divine Retribution "Karma"
Whatever dude. Blessed Be.
