question about incense.
By:
I have decided to take up incense making. So I purchased a book called "The Complete Book of Incense, Oils & Brews" by Scott Cunningham. In the recipes it says stuff like 1 part cinnamon, 2 parts sandalwood, etc. My question is what kind of measurement is a part? Is it a pinch, tablespoon, or what?

3Elements, the answer is that a part is not a measurement, it is a ratio. For example, if a recipe calls for 1 part nutmeg, 2 parts cinnamon; The "part" can mean any measurement, such as teaspoons or cups. In other words, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
