Different Belief Systems
By:
So I've gathered from forums, covens and most of the site that there are so many different beliefs. And I totally accept that, its perfectly fine! So I made this forum so we can discuss beliefs of different things, but without arguing with each other.
Name:Olwyn
Nationality/Region: Irish/Ireland
Beliefs: Celtic deities, pagan deities, spiritual creatures, nature spirits, spirits/ghosts, karma.
Path: Druidism, Shamanism, Celtic Paganism and Main Wicca. I dont follow a specific path.
Age: 13
Experiences I believe have happened to me: Encounter with what I believed to be an evil spirit, who was a black shadow sort of and growled at me. Also seen a Mandrake and waved. Encounters with fae and nature spirits.
Convert or born into it: Convert from Catholic.
Of course, nobody has to answer all questions or even fill it out. We are here to be civil and discuss different belief systems, that all connect to Paganism, Wicca and Occult Arts.

Olwyn, you have seen a Mandrake in Ireland? I didn't know Mandrakes grew in Ireland! And why would you wave to a plant?
Oh, wait a minute! You've been reading Harry Potter!

Thanks Brysing for moving this to the proper thread. And no, clearly your a bit confused. In Harry Potter they are plants or roots, right? But, as I seen a mandrake, it wasn't like that. It looked like a tree. Ah yes, some may believe it was my imagination or simply me lying, but that is what I saw. If you watch the movie Maleficent you'll see that the Mandrakes in that look more like trees, but it was not, or not that I believe a figure made from my imagination.

You should not believe what you see in movies! But you are young, and the young tend to believe what they see. Until I was about 10 years old, I thought Errol Flynn really was Robin Hood!
My old witch teacher told me to write this in my notebook:-
"Do not believe everything you read. Do not believe everything you hear. And only believe half of what you see!"

Hi, fullmoon!
You wave to inanimate objects, like trees, too!
Neat.

That's a very good saying! I do infact believe in alot of things, so maybe that should stop. But if it wasn't a mandrake I'm not sure what I seen then!

I do infact talk to trees all the time, but what I believe to have seen was a little bit more than a tree! But I respect your beliefs! :)

Name: My name is RhiSabelle, Rhisa, Rhi, or any other variation of that

Nationality/Region: I live in the United States. I have a significant amount of Native American heritage though, but I don't claim the culture as I have never been to a Native American tribe and been accepted into the culture.

Beliefs: I basically consider myself agnostic. I don't think it is possible to truly know if there is a certain or right god or if a god even exists. Although, I also consider myself a sort of pantheist and animistic. Pantheist in the sense that I believe everything has a bit of divinity in it and animistic in the sense that I believe everything has a spirit.

Path: I have been following a lot of ideas of shamanism recently. Along with that, I practice chaos magic, and various forms of divination.

Age: 18

Experiences: Eh, I can't think of anything too significant right now. At least, that I'm comfortable charing.

Convert or born into it: I converted to my current beliefs. I was A Christian early in my life.

You said you follow Main Wicca. What do you mean by that? Do you care to elaborate? How did you come to convert to where you are now? How does your family feel about it/ do they know?

Brysing is quite right, you should not guide yourself by what you see in movies; considering the fact you're gathering the information from movies like "Maleficent". You are, of course, admitted to believe in whatever you wish but by believing in things from movies; you will just be fooling yourself into believing something that is mere fantasy.
