Barnum Effect
By:
If I did a short ritual divination for you and results told me you have a need for others to like you but are sometimes too critical of yourself, would you appreciate the reading? This is an example of The Barnum Effect. P. T. Barnum, notorious hoaxer and co-founder of the famous circus once said, "a fool is born every minute."

How can I make sure I'm not falling prey to myself when doing divinations (stichomancy is my favorite)? Also, how can I sort out astrological readings. The one on the sidebar of this website seems to take me for a fool once in a while.

If by the one in the sidebar you mean Mora then you need to understand that the responses are randomly generated by the computer and are meant for entertainment only. Mora is not a valid divinatory tool and was never meant to provide accurate readings.

I have the astrological reading option enabled. I've never used mora. On the sidebar the reading for Virgo shows up and changes every day

Again, it is a generalized reading. In order to be specific for you you would have to provide a reader with specific information such as the date and hour of your birth, the place of birth, etc. Computer generated astrological readings will not be very accurate at all.
