Dating and whatever

I guess in my neighborhood, I'm consider an individualist hippie that practices the ways of an eclectic witch (I guess...I'm more like an indecisive witch.) Anyways, why is it so hard to find someone accepting of my beliefs? Would someone who practicing Norse Paganism and the other practicing voodoo, would it be good relationship with their different beliefs?

I don't see why beliefs would make a big difference in a relationship if the two are respectful about it. I'm Wiccan and my boyfriend is Christian and we get along just fine ^^ I think it's more interesting to be with someone of different beliefs, personally, because it's nice to learn about different beliefs than yours and why they chose that specific path. I mean it would also be nice to have someone to study the same beliefs with, but for me that's not enough to decide for me whether I should be with that person or not.

My soon to be husband is Christian and is perfectly fine, even curious, of my beliefs and practices. When I ask if he worries about me not going to "heaven" with him, he simply says he is fine spending eternity without me as long as he gets a lifetime with me here to think of for his eternity.

Falling Leaf warn people before you say stuff like that, my heart just broke in my chest :')

Luna, like others have said, it ranges from fine to great if you get along with someone very different from yourself, because it's a great opportunity to grow in knowledge and understanding, my own boyfriend is a skeptic who asks great questions and it makes me research and think things through properly when I want to explain them to him. He also takes things on board if I've explained properly and it gives me a great sense of satisfaction when he accepts what I have to say :) He still thinks I'm completely bonkers but if anything it adds something to the relationship :P

Aw, thank you all so much for your kind words. My last relationship didn't work out because he was an Agnostic who pretty much laughed at everything I believed and try to turn me away from things and tried to make me become more like him.

Yeah, that's no good, laughing is fine but when it crosses over into ridicule it's damaging and no fun at all >:/ sorry that happened to you, there's much better relationship dynamics out there :)

Sorry to hear that LunaNoelle, I know what it's like to have someone you care about mock your beliefs, not fun.

As mentioned, you don't have to share the same religious beliefs, you just have to share the belief that the right path for me, might not be the right path for you.

This isn't the 1800s,it shouldnt matter
Me and my GF have different views
Religion does not matter much in relationships unless one tried to impose it on the other,or does not except the others ideas
You don't have to agrew just accept

If religion is the only problem you're having within a relationship, you're looking at it the wrong way. If you end up being with someone and building a relationship with them long enough, they shouldn't care about your beliefs and support you no matter what. Religion shouldn't be the first thing or top priority when it comes to relationships. It should be building trust, self disclosure, and time with each other.

For example, my boyfriend is 101% Atheist. And I completely respect that. I'm the total opposite, a Hellene. When I first started dating him, I thought it would be nice if I could show him the way of the Gods, but not everyone gets what they want. He respects my religious choices and it's wonderful. We don't really talk about religion, only because it's not the first thing on the list to pay attention to.

My girlfriend is totally opposed to my way of life. It makes it terribly hard to practice and she is always pushing me to go to church. I understand your struggles and strife. Prayers to you and Blessed be.
