What do they mean

I am more interested the fundamentals of Magick than casting them. Basically, I want to know what does this plant do, what does this color candle signify. You know, the basics. I want a crash course on what in the magic world does what, or what is represents. I'd also like to me the consequences of black and white magic. Basically, I'm a nerd who wants the knowledge rather than the power. I hope to learn much from this site.
