Ladybug Omens?
By:
Just a few moments ago while I was scketching, an orange ladybug fell onto my paper, just out of the blue. I haven't been outside and no windows are open, so I don't know how it could have happened. After putting it outside, I wondered if it meant something. It might not, of course, but it seemed strange and I think it could be some sort of omen. What kinds of omens are associated with ladybugs?

Orange you say? Sadly, it is most likely not a lady bug but a look a like that is an Asian Lady Beetle that have kind of taking over and are a huge pest. They get into homes all time in my area and are impossible to get rid of. My spring cleaning generally includes sweeping up hundreds of these beetles from under furniture, near windows and etc.

But as far as omens go, omens don't happen often and when they do, they kind of leave you feeling odd. Like you know something magickal or out of the ordinary just happened.

Well I did feel odd when I was handling it. When I picked up my paper to take it outside, I got this odd feeling in my stomach, sort of nervous or fearful. I actually let out an "eep!" When the but flew off of my paper and landed on me. I'm not a bug person, but I usually don't react like that to ladybugs (or bugs that look like orange ladybugs). I still sort of have that feeling.

Ladybugs are generally considered a good omen...lucky actually. However, I'm not sure if that applies to the Asian beetle one. I personally do not consider them a good thing but that is just because of them being a pest here. Therefore, not sure how you should take it if it was.

It says here: (http://feng-shui.lovetoknow.com/ladybugs-bring-good-luck) that Asian beetles aren't associated with good luck like ladybugs. It says that they signal negative chi and are quite invasive. That definitely explains why I felt so queasy.

Normally smaller bugs like that can crawl through cracks and doesn't require any windows to be open. Yes, Japanese lady beetle! They sure look like ladybugs, don't they? Usually ladybugs are a good sign. We want them in our gardens. :) Beetles in general are hard to catagorize symbolically. Why? There are so many species of beetles, that the symbolic category is all over the place.

So it could just mean that there it's a start to a bug problem.
