If you don't need a spell for something specific don't use one at all, first of magic mostly runs on willpower and if you just want to see if it works you wont likely try as hard and second you should not mess with forces you don't understand just for your amusement!

A spell should be made by the person who plans to use it. A spell written by you will be not only more in tune with you but it already has your intent written in. The spell should also be something practical and possible. If it seems impossible chances are it is. Don't bother if that's the case.

If you are new to the magical area, the best place to start would be to have a basic understanding of the craft. I personally would suggest meditation being one of the strongest things you first develop. (My personal opinion) Meditation teaches you focus and discipline and it also relaxes you.

It also helps to ground you and find your center so casting is carried out in a better fashion.
