I use Firefox mainly for SoM and have been for a while now. It was only in the past day or two that I started getting ads popping up from the right side and bottom of the screen. This does not happen on any other site I use and it does not happen in Chrome or Internet Explorer. I'm fairly sure this was not an update for Firefox as I've double checked all of my add-ons and nothing was changed recently. What confuses me is that only happens on one site and one browser and I have no idea why it's happening or how to get rid of it (Gods know I would love to, as it is more annoying than anything).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please and thank you.

It is a virus... probably not one that antivirus software can find. It is most likely a simple one that is stored in your cookies. Clear your browsing history and cookies. In the menu bar, click on 'Tools', 'Options', 'Privacy' tab, 'clear your recent history' in blue font about 2/3's the way down, change the time range to 'everything', show 'details' by clicking on the drop down if it isn't showing, select everything but active logins to completely clear everywhere the virus could be in your internet history. If that doesn't fix it, you have a more complicated virus and should consult help on a computer based site. or e-mail me.

Thanks for the advice, but it is resolved now. I went through and deleted every program I didn't need or use on my computer and it's honestly made things better so far. I'll still clear cookies though, just as an extra measure to safe.

I wonder why it only targeted one site though (or perhaps only showed on one site). o.O

Might be the settings in firefox on your computer. Try not to use updates, as it seems to change things. "If it ain't broke" kind of thing. lol Blessings!

SoM has ads on safari from apple as well. I think the site may be doing this as some pages are "missing due to site reconstruction"
