I think you can find a lot of the books free online. As for herbs - maybe you can tell them you are interested in botanics and grow your own. I don't know what other supplies you need but I'm sure there is a way to get them to. If you get allowance you can always save a little bit for what you need and if you are old enough you might consider getting a part time job under the pretext that you want to get some experience in working. Hope this helps.

I just tell mine the partial truth. Say it's piked your interest and make it as light hearted as you possibly can. I joke about it with my dad and talk to him about it as pure curiosity.

Best to make your own supplies, if possible.

-Wand: Can be made from a good branch.
-Grimoire(Book of Shadows Journal): Regular blank notebook. Easily purchased from any store and can easily be decorated.
-Candles: All the colors you need. Can be brought from any retail store.
-Athame: A regular kitchen knife would make a de-facto Athame.
-Pentacle: Can be made at home. Instructions available online.
-Occult Textbooks: Many useful ones are free, online.

Some things you might have trouble finding:
-Crystals
-Tarot Cards
-Herbs

Those things can easily be purchased from any local New Age store or online from the SoM store.

hmmmm I had the same problem when I was younger. Most supplies I made myself. the internet was my textbook and I was my own teacher. I also made a group that practiced magick among my friends. Whenever my parents questioned what I was doing we would just say playing D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) which worked well as they could not tell the difference. another option is to tell your parents that its your beliefs and that you would like them to accept that. However; this is not a good idea if you have intollerent parents as I had (at least in my humble opinion). best of luck.

Too be honest if you told your parents they would have to get use to you doing magick because its what you do.

You can start by saying you found something that interests you and you want to find out more about it. You can make supplies, and get things like herbs from your grocery store. Candles at a walmart or store near you. Free ebooks online will help you with book problems. There is so much you can do without actually spending any money. Start with that, then tell them. It will show them you are truly interested. And remember to be respectful, as they are your parents. Good luck and Blessed Be...
