encyclopedia of 5000 spells is a good one, theres some useless ones in there because the author (judika illes) seems to like her folklore, but theres some really awesome stuff too.
also the crones book of charms and spells by valerie worth.
and for general magic, interestimg facts and nice ways to look at life try the grimoire for the apprentice wizard co written, compiled and edited by oberon zell ravenheart. its a very good book and i still love it after ~five years.
sorry for any typos,im writing via phone and its not very good for typing on

For a first time Grimoire or Book of Shadows I would go to Ebay. The ones on this site are amazing but they are American, so if like me you are from Europe or overseas, then Ebay is your best bet. They have loads of different styles, coloures and sizes. I got mine from there...

Good Luck xxx

I've been told to use a black binder to help organize spells better or a black notebook. (Sadly at the time I didn't have either so I used a temporary diary with a dark blue cover).
