Shamanic Energies?

I've gotten interested into shamanism and shamans recently. So, I decided to listen to shamanic music. I had earbuds in so I kind of blocked the world out and relaxed. It was normal at first, but as the beats kept growing and pulsing, I felt a strange energy inside me. It was like meditating, but my body felt an almost electric energy. It didn't hurt, but felt strange. Does anyone have any insight on what I felt when I listened to that music?

Drum beats of a certain rhythm and tempo induce trance. What you felt was the beginning of entering a trance state. =)

I agree, you were going into a trance, shamans use drums to enter trance states in order to do journeys and contact spirits primarily animal spirits for hunting and other spirits for crop growth if their people practiced horticulture.

Thank you for your help. I thought of trance as an option, since I read that shamans go into a trance during their rituals.

In my experience a feeling like that means that you're experiencing a vibrational change. When we meditate we are able to raise our vibrational frequencies. This allows us to do many things in shamanism such as astral travel, healings and other such journeys.
