I've seen this apparition of a dog three times. At first I thought it was my dog astral projecting because at the time this happened I found out he was asleep and they are the same type of dog. Well, I saw it yesterday night and I thought it looked like my dog but when I looked around the corner my dog was standing there, looking down at the ground and I realized they look nothing alike except that they are the same type of dog(which is a white labrador retriever) and they are about the same height. For some reason the apparition disappeared and I saw my dog look up at me and he was totally fine, no longer just randomly looking down at the floor, not moving at all from that spot. What happened? Also, I probably should put that the first time I ever saw it I thought it was my dog so I called it by my dog's name and it ran into the living room. For some reason the first time I happened I had a feeling to go in the hallway, into my Mom's room and my dog was sleeping there. The first time I didn't get a very good look at the dog apparition but when I compared them mentally the color of the fur was much lighter than my dog's and there was no hint of a bit of yellow on the fur. What's happening? Is it my dog astral projecting? Or is it a spirit feeding off my dog's energy? I think it's a spirit but I really need an opinion on what's going on. Thanks for the help in advance.

thats very interesting. i have been seeing ghosts and spirits since i was very young and they can take the shape of other things so it might not be your dog astrial projecting. it sounds more to me like a prancster because they tend to mess with people in that way. it may be feeding off of your own energy by confusing you like this so next time it happens try laughing. i know it may sound crazy but spirits that like to scare or confuse or sometimes even harm will stop if you laugh and say dude cut it out. but you have to be serious when you do it. i can hardly do it withought screaming and runnign out of a room. i hope i was of help, but yes i beleive it is a spirit takeing the form of your dog to mess with you.

Thanks. Yea, I generally just pretend that they're not there or just try and not freak out. Usually that happens. I was really proud of myself because I had a spirit moving a knife around in the kitchen on Samhain and I didn't freak out.

It could be an impression of your dog. Every living thing leaves a little energy behind throughout the day. Sometimes, when that living thing is habitual and does the same things over and over in the same places, the energy accumulates and creates an impression. If this other dog does not interact with you or notice that you are there, and it is doing what your dog does, than it is probably an impression. Simply cleansing the house will get rid of it.

They don't always look identical. It's similar to a thoughtform in that it takes the shape of what the energy's owner sees themselves to be. It is probably missing a yellow spot and seems lighter because a dog's color spectrum is different than ours. Some people say they see in black and white, but I don't think that is true. I think the colors they see are just different. My chihuahua likes pink and purple (all shades). Anything with either of those colors, he automatically takes a liking to and claims as his own. Don't ask me why! But it proves to me he isn't colorblind.

I'm usually very good with keeping on top of cleansing my house. But when I go out, I see, feel, and hear impressions all the time. You can tell the difference between them and a spirit messing with you, when you can't sense a presence, but instead feel the lingering energy of someone, just as you would on the possessions of an individual.

Well, it was weird because the first time it ran away from me when I started calling it. It's my dog who acts like a weirdo when this happens. My dog in real life was looking down towards the ground like in a non-moving kind of way the whole time that dog was there. Then, finally when it disappeared he looked up. He kind of had a dead look in his eyes until he saw me and started acting normal again. It was just so odd to seem him like that the whole time that dog was there. Do impressions generally make the real animal appear that way?

Oh, and the spirit dog, whatever it is just either stares at me or runs away when I come towards it.

the impression idea i suffisticated but it makes no sence because what ever did that most likely moved the knife to. and an impression wouldnt do that, especially if it was a dog. not to mention that it looks at you and it makes perfect sence becuase it is most likely feeding off of your energy by confusing you.
