Hello and welcome to SOM

Just some helpful advice to help you get stetted up here.

It is advisable to have two accounts because if anything happened to the first then at least you have a backup account just in case.

Which spells work.

I hear them time and time again on this site. The best answer I can give you all is to stay away from the fantasy and weather spells.

Why?

Well the clue is in the name with fantasy spells. Fantasy meaning not real. So consequently, the vampire and werewolf spells will not work.

Weather spells will not work because no one can control the weather. It is impossible to do.

What's the point then if spells like that do not work?

There is every point. Magick is not all about spells. Its a way of life. Its about being in harmony with one self and the environment. Learning the ways of magick has opened my eyes to the world around me and I say it is worth every moment.

Blessings

Igniss

You might be right about spells to control the weather.but if you believe you cant control the weather, then you cant control the weather.

Weather magick is something you either believe in or don't,I personally believe in it however with limits, you can't use magick to make it snow in summer

I think weather magick increases the chance of that particular weather(rain for example) happening

Overall a good post:)

Another tip for beginners would be to learn protection spells and cleansing spells as these come in handy

There is actually a song you could sing to stop heavy rain, if you wish. Its amazing and so powerful. I've only done it once, together with my teacher. It was my first practise on completely putting an end to heavy rain...

You will need a guitar for this one to play a tune as you sing a chant over and over. The lightning then strikes, the heavy rain stops, and the clouds in the sky will give way to the stars to shine down on you...

I am gonna disagree with the weather magick bit too. No, I don't think someone can randomly summon a tornado or force it to be sunny during a bad storm. But I do think one can lessen the chance of rain, help bring a cool front in quicker and other little things.

Also Don Lewis, who heads the Correllian Wiccan tradition, talks about it in several places in his Witch School book/web lesson series. He said it isn't uncommon for when a big pagan gathering is going to happen, to have a few weather witches try to keep the weather favorable for the scheduled event date.

Humans have no influence on weather conditions whatsoever. Weather conditions are caused by events far beyond the control of Humans.
Billions of Dollars have been spent, and are still being spent, on the study of weather patterns and conditions, in order to give accurate weather forecasts (and even they are not always accurate).
So let's have this nonsense put to an end on this, so-called serious, site.
Humans cannot control, or have any influence whatsoever, on weather conditions. You cannot make it rain. You cannot stop rain. You cannot raise wind. You cannot stop wind.
All weather conditions were occurring on this planet long before Humans existed. And they will go on occurring long after Humans become extinct.
So stop posting this nonsense. All you are doing is making yourself look foolish.
