"Creating" spells is a very personal thing. I personally require more elaborate preparation then others just because it helps me focus. You need to be very sure of your intent. You need to understand the basics and you need to educate yourself.

No matter what path you follow you need to walk before you run. I believe that we all put energy out into the universe everyday. But focusig your energy and just putting it out there without knowing what you are doing may get you more then you asked for.
