Empathy/Telepathy

I was reading about empathy, (the ability to sense emotions in others)and realize I am an empath(or will be). My husband and I have dealt with people that are extremely narcissistic and or Psychopathic. (You don't have to kill to be one). His step father, although NOT violent, we think is a psychopath. He is very good at conning people. But I have noticed that I never get any vibes or feelings of him even hiding any emotions. I can see that the only vibes we will feel come from the stressful situations he starts, usually involving my mother in law. Now,since EMPATHY deals with emotions and TELEPATHY deals in thoughts, would mental telepathy be the only way to sense bad intentions in someone, like a serial killer? I've always wondered how people could end up victims of serial killers, but if there is no way to sense emotions in them, I guess I can see why. Any thoughts?

Psychopaths and Sociopaths are often confused a lot. Both have an anti-social disorder present. Sociopaths tend to lie a lot and try to cover up the fact that they're sociopaths. Psychopaths seem to be more forthcoming, and are usually more violent than sociopaths, as they don't really care who knows. Famous people who are psychopaths are Charles Manson & Theodore Bundy. Does your husband's step-father seem to never want to take blame, and doesn't really show sympathy (if he does is it about odd things)? If so, then he might be a sociopath. And because he's a sociopath he probably shares the common trait of trying to hide it, so he does everything in his will to keep the sociopathic vibe he has from going out. Which in return might make it harder for you to read.

A lot of people believe that telepathy is only reading the thoughts of other's, when it's not. It's any communication that is understood between multiple minds (at least two) without using the five senses (touch, taste, see, hear, and smell). Therefor empathy is a form of telepathy.

There's is a theory that empaths feel other's emotions only because they have felt that emotion before (in this life or a past one); and can relate to it well. So perhaps a victim of a serial killer has never felt the anger, guilt, excitement, ect. to the extent that the serial killer has, therefor they cannot pick up on that vibe, because they haven't felt it, and can't relate. (Kind of like how they say don't cast a love spell and expect love when you don't even love yourself fully.)

His step-dad has had tremendous control over the family, (in the past), and is great at getting the best deal. A good con man who has never been called on for anything,i'm aware of.We moved out to the country with them years ago in 1999, and didn't know how he was.
At first, he tried causing friction between me and my hubby, and he talked about him behind his back. I think he had at that point already figured me to be the quiet one. But we went through horrible things with him for years, too much to list.
He tried to get my brother in law drunk enough to start a fight so he had an excuse to kick him out of there house and my hubby ended up with a broken ankle. The next day, everyone was upset, but he was acting weird. He said he had fun. I read that psychopaths will act awkward around situations where everyone is emotionally upset.

I have in recent years learned how to use intellect instead of feeling emotions. I took one of those online tests and it told me I use 50% of the left brain side and 50% of the right side of my brain. I am very analytical and always thinking on a deeper level than everyone else. I used to live around alot of bad people, that's when I started analyzing instead of empathyzing because these were bad people always using me to drive them everywhere. I saw through them and rarely called them on it since it wouldn't change anything, I thought. I needed to be more assertive at that time.
So if someone wants to sense a psychopath or narcissist, think of basic emotions and analyze them as you tune in to the person, there's got to be a trap door there somewhere. A man has the man ego, someone could gather energy and try finding it. Try to find it in a different way than its hidden, this way you can find it easier and then create an association to open it, and just like a computer, ENCRYPTION/DECRYPTION.

Psychopaths do love to control others and stir up their minds because they are bored and find satisfaction in making others feel less than. He could have been acting weird because he didn't understand the emotions that you all were feeling, as psychopaths don't know how to be empathetic.

A possible reason for not reading him well is psychopaths believe that any emotion that is being felt by their victim, is an emotion that they shouldn't (and mentally can't. They believe they have the choice, but they don't) feel because it's a sign of weakness, therefor every time you feel an emotion, he sees that you feel it, and doesn't want(can't) to feel the same way, making both of you on different emotional and mindset levels.
