I have a male friend on here that I know personally from school that wants to be a wizard and also become Wiccan. I'm not so sure that he's dedicated to it. It is more like he is fascinated with the idea of "powers". He wants me to be his mentor but I don't know exactly what to tell him. I cold use a little bit of help. ~Blessed be

You might begin by explaining to him that Wicca isn't about "powers" or even about magic. Methinks he's been watching too much Charmed. Wicca is a religion dedicated to honoring our Gods and to self-growth and living rightly. It really doesn't sound like what he is interested in. You might send him to the website at http://wicca.cnbeyer.com/wicca101/ for a good introduction to what Wicca really involves. It might change his mind about what he is looking for.

I am not a wican but If I get the wican idea than it's not your job to say that he is not up for it if it was me than I woud teach him the filosofy and if he wants to continue and u think that he is up for it teach him
P.S. if he's under 10 than tell him a excuse becaus most people that age won't take it seriously
P.s. if he would take it seriously but does not get the wican way of life u should just send him to this website

He's actually already a member of this site and is 19 years old. He said he partially wants to be Wiccan to get back together with me, we dated before (a friend told me this information)

Sadlymost of the people feel drawn to many paths suchaas wicca in search of more power. Most of them hope to find something paranormal. The presentation of the media doesn't really help.
Wicca is not about magick. It has ofcourse a touch of rituals and spells but this is not the main thing. Wicca is a lifestyle, a way of thinking and a combination of beliefs and philosophy.
Explain him that and if he wishes to continue teach him about the wiccan beliefs sabbats and philosophy without the practice part (spells rituals) at first.
If he is been respectful and patient introduce him to the practice as well
I would recommend small steps at a time.
Good luck and

If your friend is only looking at learning about Wicca as a way of getting the two of you back together then he is probably thinking about it for the wrong reasons. Choosing to follow a religion is a serious life choice and should only be done because the tenets of that religion draw one's heart in that direction. Any other reason will not result in satisfaction.

On the other hand, if he's wanting to learn about Wicca so he can fully understand YOUR choice and therefore better understand you, I see no issue in offering to teach him about your beliefs and practices. That would certainly be a reasonable approach. But if that is the case then I would teach the beliefs of Wicca and leave out the magical practices of spellwork as those are not central to what you do.
