Wiccan Rede Crisis

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if in this case it would be justified to cast a revenge spell on my ex-boyfriend: He lied to me for 2 years, his feelings for me were lies, he betrayed me, because of him I lost my job and was kicked out of the flat we lived in, and then to top it all he dumped me for no reason. I was left heartbroken and alone. All he did was lie to me and hurt me, and seems to have no conscience of what hes done to me!

I cant seem to find closure and know I can only rest in peace if this man gets what he deserves: no more, no less. I cast a revenge spell on him, to make him go through the exact same things I have been going through.
Will I suffer karmic concequences for this spell? I feel its justified!

If you are Wiccan and you cause him any form of harm, I believe that would go against your religion. As far as Karma goes, that is a belief based thing so I am uncertain. While I do believe most of us get what we put out in the universe, not all of us do.

Blessings :)

Forgive, live and let live. Plus, didn't you admit in chat that it was because something stupid you did?

True Bardou,

But his concequences were way out of proportion to what I did.

I think the sooner you stop thinking about what he did and focus on yourself things will be better. He did what he did, don't turn it into a contest of who did what. Forgive and better yourself from a bad experience. You'll love yourself more for it. :)

No matter what you'll be going against your rede. However, it all depends on if you follow traditional or modern Wicca. The rede was a Sanders and Garderian concept. Men created this. Do you follow men or do you follow the Lord and Lady? See, this is where I conflict with the modern Wiccans. However, if you look further back, the Wicce were those who practiced traditional Witchcraft which has no "no harm" rule. In fact Sanders even wrote that if we as witches were accepted into society, that hopefully we could reclaim our freedoms. Yes witches should be naturally "good" in nature, but we also have the carnal instincts our creator gave us. If we were not meant to have them, why would they be given?

The one part about your post that I would like to shine some light on is "revenge". Ah! Such a nasty word. As witches we keep balance in our thoughts and actions. What you should be looking for is "justice". When such things come about in our lives, and we feel a need for "revenge" it isn't a good idea to cast from our own hearts. Our emotions are overcoming our better judgement and we may go overboard. I personally will call forth justice, be it in the form of an archetype (deity), a type of nature spirit, or call upon the Great Mother herself and in a circle between the worlds, explain what has happened, feel all the emotion, cry if you feel it is natural. Then when you are done, ask that what is fair be done. That if a lesson is in store for him, let it be given. If there is an imbalance, let it be restored. Know in your heart, and with your trust in the spirits or Great Mother herself, that whatever happens will be fair and the wrong done to you will be tended to. You've put it into the hands of a being that can see beyond what you can and that holds the keys to cause and effect, karms, 3-fold law, whatever it is you believe.

Afterwards, ask that your heart may be healed. Perform a ritual to heal and cleanse yourself.

This should give you a great feeling of peace within yourself. Don't dwell on what will happen to him. Focus on moving on, bettering your life, and trust that those who watch over you will provide the justice.

You need good luck and blessings right now, not the negative energy brought on by a revenge spell.

Well, The Justice spell is already cast, and it has provided some relief. For one, I am not as mad at him anymore.
See I dont want to hurt him, but more like teach him a lesson that he should think twice befor treating people the way he does, just make him go thru what I went through.

Im not mad at him anymore, but I am still disappointed. I do agree that a healing or cleansing spell is the right move .

You know what a justice spells means, dont you Stephi?

It means that if you've done something wrong in this relationship, you will pay for it too...just like you're making your ex pay for it. Now that's justice done, right?

As the ol' saying goes... be carefull what you ask for

To be honest I feel kind of guilty for casting it. I really only wanted to teach the guy a lesson.

Hopefully I can find closure on this.

Magi, are you describing the nature of a justice spell or trying to scare her? Although fear is an excellent conditioning tool, trying to scare someone into being "good" time and time again has proven to actually cause opposite effects in the long run.

Justice spells only "backfire" when the caster wishes ill effects to occur and has done more wrong in the relationship than the other individual. If you are an honest, honorable, and loyal individual, then you have nothing to worry about. If you have done things that you know were wrong in your heart, than these things must be weighed to see if the scales are already balanced in the relationship.

However I have found that doing it my way, that nothing backfires, because I am not wishing or desiring anything but saying that "IF" I have indeed been found the victim, that justice be given. I have an Irish temper, and I'm sure some of you have seen that here. So I like to leave the decisions to higher beings who have a neutral view of the situation. If I was wrong, I usually get inspired to that truth during meditation sometime that week. Regardless, talking about it and expressing my emotions, helps me to get it off my chest, and sometimes just that alone allows me to gain peace.

Have I casted "you reap what you sew" magick, yes. But not often. They are usually involving protections I cast on myself, to reflect. And yes, they do have a reverse effect if I myself am in the wrong. But I like that. Sometimes I need a spiritual smack to change my ways. We tend to get caught up in our own emotions and thoughts, and this actually helps me to be a better person. When life begins to get rough I reflect and make things right, and life turns around again and blesses me for my choices. And I become a happier person for it.

So such magick has a bright side if you understand the signs and act on them.
