Trouble Sleeping
By: / Novice
Hi Everyone

as the title says I have trouble sleeping which is unusual because I have been using a protection spell just for this very reason and it normally works perfectly, if it was one night sure but it's almost as bad as when I wasn't using a spell.

The spell I use is pretty simple but was always effective until now I would use a small amethyst and charge it with moonlight I would then wrap it in a piece of cloth with a personal sigil I designed for protection and cleansing and then re charge the gem when necessary.

I tried re charging the crystal as well as cleansing it with water is it possible that using the same spell over and over has caused it's effect to decrease or do I need a stronger spell ? would adding another crystal help ? I have used this spell for a long time so I'm not sure what is going on Any comments or assistance would be appreciated Thank you

If a protection spell was helping you sleep, you may consider that one of the reasons you are having trouble sleeping is a feeling of discomfort or of not being safe. If you cast a protection spell, it may be helping you to feel more comfortable and safe at night when you are about to fall asleep, entering a vulnerable state.
If this is the case, you might want to try a cleansing spell as well. I always find that they neutralize the atmosphere and give it a very calm energy. This, coupled with the protection spell could be enough to give you the reassurance of safety enough to fall asleep.
If this is not the case, if may also be that having a ritual at night before you go to sleep is helping let your brain and body know that it is getting close to the time to power down. This can be done with any ritual, so it doesn't necessarily have to be a protection spell and it doesn't necessarily matter whether you use crystals or how many.
If you associate what you do before bed as a ritual preparing you for sleep, any ritual hypothetically could be helpful. If the one you are using no longer seems to be working, you might consider adding another step to it right before you fall asleep as a final message to yourself that it is time to fall asleep.
Something else you could try is meditation. This is just the practice of clearing your mind of all thoughts and entering a relaxed state. If what is keeping you up are distracting thoughts and you just can't seem to shut your brain off, this is a good way to begin that process.
Last suggestion I can offer is writing about the events that took place that day. A lot of people have trouble falling asleep because they are busy thinking about something that happened that has gone unresolved or that they believe they still have to deal with. If you write all of these down, your conscious mind is dealing with these thoughts up front and will be less concerned with them at night when you are trying to fall asleep.
Hopefully, you will find one of these suggestions helpful. I used to (and occasionally still do) have a lot of trouble falling asleep quickly, and I found that a combination of writing and meditation helped a lot. Best of luck to you

You can try sleeping with a red jasper and smokey quartz under your pillow.

You can also try meditating before you sleep to ward off negative energies so you can relax yourself and fall asleep.

Also try not to drink caffeinated beverages or watch horror films and fall try falling asleep 45 minutes before you usually go to bed to allow your body to whined down.
