"Good Witch" TV show

Hi everyone! I'd like other people's views on if the television show Good witch on Hallmark channel is a positive representation of being a witch? I mean the main character Cassie helps people with wisdom and using the metaphysical properties of crystals and such. The show itself never mentions the word witch, and the show doesn't tell you if she's a witch or not. For example in one episode she's helps someone who's being bullied by giving them an Amethyst quartz cluster or something like that. I know Amethyst is supposed to give protection against negative energy which would relate to the bulling. This makes me think of the fact that not all Wiccans are Witches because you don't see her chant or do any of the stereotypically rituals that you'd normally see where special effects are used to make flashes of light for their spells. But I definitely feel like Good Witch is like a positive representation of a witch. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Blessed be!

I've seen this show before. My mother, the least pagan person on the face of the planet, suggested it. I found it a great show and really a good example of witchcraft in a positive light.

I watched the first few shows, I thought it was a positive show, but quickly lost interest as she was portrayed as a goody goody witch who really did not show much about being a witch at all. Not all of us own a shop and sell herbs and crystals. And yes, not all Witches are Wiccans and not all Wiccans are witches.
I would have liked to see more information about witchcraft given to the audience.

It might give people a better impression of Witches, but it truly isn't a very realistic one. But then, it is Hollywood and it is meant to be entertaining, not educational.

What Lark said was what I thought when I first watched it.

never seen it, but it does sound like it's trying to get paganism in the right light. does sound like it needs a bit more to it, like a show about a happy person giving out sage advise and a crystal sounds fine, i can see how some people might get bored, so perhaps in later episodes they could throw in some more of the pagan aspect. like a Beltane episode [or Samhain since witches love Halloween and all] perhaps an episode about the prejudice she might endure, or an episode where she or a loved one is tempted to do some type of 'black magick' which would give the show drama, morality, and of course being a 'Good Witch' she would find a positive way around it [passive aggressive withes: i don't curse people, i simply bless everyone else around them] but in general i don't hate the premise. the only real downside is a show based on religious people can be rather boring, so something else needs to grab people [Practical Magic in my opinion is the best representation of a pagan family, but while it throws in some movie magic, the focus is more about the drama/romance over the fact they're witches] but i might check it out if i see it on anywhere.
