You must choose your own path, but based on what you have said, I recommend wicca, you practise magic from paganism, can believe in fairies, and your only 'god' is the earth. Otherwise, I recommend giving shamanism a try.

Sorry Oakgrove, but what you are describing is not Wicca. Central to Wiccan belief and practice is the belief in the God and the Goddess. If you aren't honoring them you aren't practicing Wicca at all.

Saellah, Druidry has nothing to do with Norse beliefs. The Scandanavian lands had their own beliefs. The Druids were associated with those countries of Celtic origin such as Ireland, Wales, Britain, Scotland, and Gaul. A good place to look for information on modern Druidry is at http://www.adf.org

And if you want to read up on the history of the ancient Druids and on modern Druids as well I would recommend the book "Blood and Mistletoe" by Ronald Hutton. There's a ton of informaton about modern Druidry available on-line. Try a Google search and you'll see what I mean.

That's probably because we have no idea what sort of magic the ancient Druids might have used if they used magic at all. Modern Druids use the same sort of magical workings that are used by any other spell caster.

Not really. Magic is magic and anyone of any religion can cast any spell they want to as long as they understand how and why magic works.

The major problem with Druidism is that when the Romans reached Beitan they encountered the Druids who had no written language and extremely different religious beliefs and they lead an extremely violent resistance to roman occupation. So the Romans comited genocide and killed men, women, and children recording very little about Druidic life along the way. Only faint evidence of there lives exist based on what can be dug up. This creates a problem because unlike most recreation religions there is no written history to base the beliefs on. So you must take evereything about it with a heavy dose of salt.

Why don't you continue on the path you are currently on...? In time you will find a path that resonates with you and you will begin to study and then follow it. Don't rush yourself! I don't know how long you've been practicing, but it took me quite some time until I found out I followed and became happy with Celtic Paganism. The poster above is right. There really wasn't much left after the Roman Catholics invaded rural pagan communities, but revivalism is always a tough path to tread anyway due to individual interpretation of myths. My advice is to do what you like, but remain generally to one tradition or pick a deity from a tradition you like and use them as patron or matron for a time. Life is all about growing, so try not to stay stagnant or still for too long until you find something that really resonates with you.
