Candles smoke patterns
By:
Just the other day I was working with 5 candles. I placed these five candles on each corner of a pentacle on a piece of black board. I lit the candles in a clockwise position and noticed that the smoke of the candles was also traveling in a clockwise position around the candles in a circular pattern around the candles and up around 2 meters until it dispersed. What does this mean, or does this usually happen?

Try it a few more times exactly how you did it before and in the same place, and see if you can replicate it. If it doesn't happen again, or happens randomly and not often, assume it's coincidence. If it's something that happens frequently, then that's interesting.

Tried it a few more times in the past couple of days and still get some similar results, some are stronger than others but I keep getting these spirals forming. They slightly resemble this ... http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Oracle_plane_downward_spiral_smoke.jpg
... just not as thick.

Sorry to throw this out there but is there a draft in that area that could be causing a draft to circle the room?

I like to rule out the obvious, before ventoring into the supernatural.

Think of all the ways that it could have been done and start ruling them out first, like could the swirl have been cause by the swirling action I was creating from lighting the candles in the same direction, could it have drafted it around?

Air does not just stop, it continues in motion, like a submarine in the water, you may put on the breaks (so to speak ) but you are not stopping, you keep drifting.

Air is always flowing (moving) it may be that the room is ideal for a spiral pattern movement if the conditions are right.

Just a thought to throw out there.....

Blessed Be

Sorry about the late reply but I've had a lot of school exams and projects to do.
The candles were burning for roughly 6 minutes before the smoke spiral formed and I didn't move a muscle for those 6 minutes.
The room I was doing this in is full of items and furniture disrupting any kind of orderly flow the air would have. Even if the air did manage to collect around the candle it would just warm up and rise upward not in a spiral pattern.

There is such thing as Libanomancy, divination through smoke :)
