Empath seeking guidance

I seek guidance as an empath, help with controlling my ability and using it. I'm also curious of other magic, mostly Norse magic like runic symbols. I've been considering two tattoos for a long time, the aigishjalmur and vegvesir.

Both are excellent tatoo choices. I suggest drawing them on yourself on separate occasions to make sure you like the way they effect you. Body placement is important as well. Each area of the body is different. Then you can draw both of them where you wish to have them permanently and make sure they don't have any negative effects on you before having them tatooed. Don't tatoo the death knot tho, people erroneously tatoo this on themselves without understanding that it is was used as a symbol to either provoke or signify a person crossing over (dying/dead) and it has caused the bearers to suffer violent accidental death.

As for empath, the best way to control empathic senses is to learn to control and recognize your own emotions.

Thank you, I agree that they are excellent tattoo choices. I've decided to get one on each wrist.

What are ways to learn to control and recognize my own emotions? I know I have a problem with this, would meditation be a good way to do this?

I much rather prefer the term sensitive than empath. Yes it can be difficult at times but also a blessing if used correctly to help others.

I agree with on the fact learn to distinguish your emotions and that of others. Grounding, centering, meditation and shielding do help.

http://www.the-auras-expert.com/highly-sensitive-persons.html This should help you understand a bit more on sensitives. I am also a sensitive.

Are you on face book ? If so mail me,I am not asking for your face book details. I will put you in touch with a sensitives group where you can learn and grow.

If you are an empath is there a way to turn it off? I mean, I don't know that I am although it is the only thing that describes why I can feel what others are feeling and usually it's the anger and the pain that is coming through. How do you stop all the feeling and the emotions?

As far as my knowledge goes I don't think there is a way to turn off your empathy. The most you can do is learn how to harness the senses/feelings and encourage them when needed. Many empaths turn to charging objects (mainly stones such as amethyst, citrine, flourite, etc...). Feeling fatigue or as if you have been "drained" after being in crowds is a fairly common thing for empaths some will visualize a type of shield around their body that protects them from unwanted or negative feelings from those around you. Hope I could help.

I really probably cant help you much but ill try my best. When your feeling others emotions (you must learn to recognize that they're not your own) try block them out, think of a wall pushing others emotions away, try tune into your own feelings. Meditate as often as possible to help you get your empathy stronger, even as far as other countries like me. Also to help clear unwanted energies.

I am an empath, but I have learned to suppress my ability as per the fact it gets... overpowering. I act on emotions that are not mine. I do this by simply turning my personal emotions off as well. People who think that feeling and sensing emotion is vastly different tend not to know much.
