Hey there. A simple anchoring technique will work for most people. I'll write a template from which you can work:

Choose a simple behaviour, like stroking your cheek, or clenching a fist. Practice this many times throughout your day. Together with the behaviour, practice the thought "am I dreaming?". When you practice this during the day, you will of course realise that you are not dreaming.

Over time, this behviour will manifest in your dreams. Because you have learned to associate the behaviour with the question, you will repeat it in your dream. This time the response will be different, and you will have achieved awareness that you are dreaming. That is what lucid dreaming is.

You may at first be startled into waking up, but do persevere. Also, do continue the daytime exercise. The amount of time it takes for it to work will vary depending on who you are, and how well you practice.
