I was surfing through a list of "Mythical" creatures and saw Banshee's. I know a small bit about them (my old teacher used to tell us story's about them) One of my favorites was "If you find a comb on the street, leave it, Because it is a banshee's comb. If you take it she will come to get it back at midnight, and wont leave much behind." So does anyone know anything about banshee's?
The banshee does exist. Like any spirit, it can physically manifest for short periods of time. Those who are clairvoyant could see one without manifestation. But some believed there was only one banshee. The Morrigan. Others say there are many.
Most mythical creatures are astral. I say most because some are just silly misunderstandings. For instance I have never seen a gremlin, I don't believe that they exist. I think they were confused with small fae or just bad engineering!...."gremlins" are a very modern belief that aircraft pilots created when they were having unexplained mechanical difficulty while in flight.
Thank you all, i have heard that a banshee was i type of fae, and now i see that there are quiet few similarities.
I will share some myths of the banshee's
A banshee come is three forms similar to the goddess.
A young maiden, in a red hooded robe, brushing her long fair hair with a silver comb and screeching, not "howling".
The Banshee in her Middle-aged form is very similar to the young maiden form, except her voice is deeper.
In her old aged form the banshee is seen in grey robes either with her hood up, or with her hair held up by a silver comb. The old banshee does not screech, she only morns and crys, washing blood off clothes, believed to belong to the newly dead.
Banshee's only served for certin family's the irish family's with "o'" before there last name. But through marriage and immigration
the banshee spreed.
A silver comb is the sign of the banshee, bad luck will fall to anyone who finds it, leave it EXACTLY where you found it, burning it kills the banshee, and killing an innocent spirit.
People talk about near death experiences, and the last thing they hear is a woman screeching, Banshee.
All of these come from my fourth class teacher who loved to scare us.
