This is an herb that you can use to treat skin irritations. It can be made into salve and placed over the area the is trouble some. It can also be applied to the face it help clear up acne. Hops is a component of many beers, so if you do not have access to any hops you can soak the irritated skin in it. Magically use it as a healing herb.

How would I prepare it for skin irritations or acne? A tincture with water, or alcohol?

I can see how you could use an alcohol in it for oily skin but you do not want to put it on any kind of open wound. Poison ivy or oak it might help to dry it up though, but still it is going to burn a lot.

and now I have an excuse to keep beer around. lol.

Anyway, are there any good lotions with hops in them, for those of us who are unable to make tinctures at home due to our living conditions (I, for instance, live in a dormitory with no communal kitchen)

Thanks for the info, kts!

Callum_M is right about hops being good for the hair. :)

When looking for products containing hops look for ingredient Humulus Lupulus. The brands Dermalogica, Tom's of Maine, and Nature's Gate are just a few of the companies that use hops in their products.
