I was wondering if there was a way to throw off or lessen emotions. Its not that I particularly want to be a cold or mean person but life keeps throwing things at me and I need to handle these problems rationally. I'd appreciate any help thank you.

You could make your Chakras which are associated with emotion less open. Unless they are currently too open, that may give you problems though.

If you do not do so already I would recommend a daily meditation routine. Additionally, if you have not done so you should balance the elemental energies within you. Unbalanced energies can result in negative emotions, limiting beliefs and, at times, mental disturbances. If you are working with higher or more subtle energies and have not balanced these elemental energies it will magnify these imbalances which may result in imbalanced emotions. Spend at least a month, preferably longer, meditating and experiencing each of the elemental energies in order of Earth, Air, Water and Fire. This will help to balance them.

Largely, meditation can allow you to balance yourself and build yourself up, and there are many spells, sigils, and even herbs that can help you become less emotional.
