staffs and wander are both well known (and well used) catalysts for spell casting, i prefer my wand, but which do you all think is better? please include some reason for your choice.

I prefer wands because they are smaller and I find it easier to customise them with personal items, and easier to attach quartz to the tip, I find it better to channel energy through it to it all comes down to personal preference

I use a stang, which is similar to a staff. It's what I prefer, because I find it useful for channeling energy in a more direct manner (in my practice). I don't use it for any type of spell casting (though I have used them for cursing in the past) but mainly for channeling energy and grounding when I do other work.

i don't use a wand much, but sometimes fashion a temporary wand for one use.

i do have a staff, but i use it more like personified mentioned. for grounding and channeling, and not so much for enchanting or spell casting.

I have both, though I rarely use either. I don't mind them and I will use them if needed. I'd generally use a wand if it's more of a "good" spell I'm casting, whereas I'd use a staff for something "bad".

Staff every time of a day:
1. more durable than a wand
2. because I mostly use runes(instead of stones or crystals) as focal points and conduits, extra space along the staff gives me plenty of room to inscriber them
3. if you are bored can be used to practice and kill some time
4. they just feel more comfortable/natural to me

I would really prefer a wand because its lightweight and its really easy to carry around.

I don't see them as equals so how could I compare?

Either way, If I had to choose between the two, I would want my staff for it's functionality and overall superiority.

My staff is an extension of myself when I am using it. Much more so than a wand could ever be.

What is the difference between a staff and a wand?
