Dreaming

Hello. I noticed that when I go to sleep, I don't dream. All I see is pitch black darkness. I haven't had a dream in months. What about you all?

I have only seen 6 dreams in my life, so join the club, anyway, that just means that you are a really deep sleeper, in which you enter a almost complete brain shut down, aside from the life sustaining stuff

There's nothing wrong with not dreaming, there are a lot of people who rarely have dreams nothing unnatural about it.

everyone dreams, you might be just having trouble remembering since we forget 95% of our dream within the first couple minutes of waking up. keep a journal or a tape recorder [cell phone if it has a voice record app] by your bed, once you wake up say/write/sketch whatever you remember, even if it's just 'red dog'. slowly, you should begin to remember more. other things you could try is meditating before bed, recording the food you eat because certain foods can effect your dreams, using aromatherapy, even a fan can effect your sleep enough to alter your dreaming.

if you really do not dream, i suggest you go to a doctor and take some sleep tests or MRI/CAT-scan because no non-REM sleep [where we are dreaming] could be the result of an illness. a lack of vitamins could account for this abnormality as well as snoring. i can't remember why, but snoring [which could result in sleep apnea] effects your sleeping and your body doesn't not relax and go through the sleep cycles which can make you very sick.

chances are, you do dream, but you don't remember them. try for a month or two the different techniques used to remember dreams [and make sure you record everything, even if you felt no effect, keep a record] if after two months you don't remember anything, not even once, talk to a doctor [specifically one who specializes in sleep and psychoanalysis]

Nekoshema has a good point. I am the opposite, I remember almost 100% of my dreams. I record what I remember vi my book of shadows and I also have a computer log. It is almost a curse! Dreams can be many things, from cataloguing and categorising the days events, to actually subconsciously interpreting subtle things your conscious cannot. Sometimes they are just a way to vent steam and escape reality for a while. Either way, dreams hold keys to many things that the conscious cannot perceive. Sometimes they tell us things of a prophetic nature, sometimes they are trying to tell us the things we need to know. I have learned to listen to them personally. And sometimes they are just wanting to escape the rough demands of life and just get a little lost. Our subconscious is really a mystery that is only now beginning to be rudimentarily understood.
I suggest learning to actually remember them, as hard as it may be. Sleep with a pen and journal nearby. You might even try self-hypnosis, with the intent and triggers placed to actually recall them. Self- hypnosis is not a bad thing at all; I have many self- help and other triggers in place to aid me in many ways.
