How to meditate?

Clearly I'm very new at this and have little knowledge about witch craft. However, I do know that meditation is a good thing to start with. I know this is a stupid question but I have a really hard time meditating, my mind always wanders and I'm not quite sure that I'm doing it right. Could someone please describe in detail how to meditate? Thanks!
