Keeping a Journal

I find it to be an excellent idea to acquire a Diary or a Magical Journal to write about how you felt during your daily routine or even about the weather, or what you dreamed about in the course of your night. My favorite, is writing down key words of the day. For example, each morning I go through one of my Tarot Decks and randomly pick one card. The word that represents that card is my keyword of the day. I'm mindful of this keyword and it's relevance during my day. In a weeks time, you have a full reading. Most importantly, journal your magical spells and experiments. Over time you will find that your journal will build, allowing you to be able to look back at your discoveries and insights during those times. It will also give you feedback as to the results of your spell casting, and I find this to be the most important thing of all. In time you will have not acquired the history of others, and their books, but your history. The journal of your own spiritual adventures. and this I find to be the importance of keeping a Spiritual Journal.

So is this like keeping your own Book of Shadows? Is there a difference? I don't really know what to put in my Book of Shadows, but I think it must be something like the Spiritual Journal you just described.
