items for ritual

I wanted to know if I was doing a ritual for separation or break up, would one figure candle be enough or would I absolutely need at least two? I already have a female figure candle, just want to know if I needed a male figure candle as well.

the candles represent the people involved, so far you're only representing yourself. [or possibly the girlfriend] try to find another candle.

Does it have to be another figure candle?

You can always inscribe on the side of any candle your names to represent you. It doesn't have to be a figure.

So I can get a black candle and inscribe his name on it and it will work just as well?

Any sized candle would work and any color that represents separation to you would do just fine. Also, when it comes to tools, they aren't needed and hold no power alone.

I personally, and others might disagree, would use a black candle. I use black to banish negativity, so it might help to use a black candle so he isn't negative about the breakup. Just my two cents :).

Too be honest with you all, you could use a picture and a red candle. Red candles represents love, so. That would be so much easier.

For me, it would depend on the path(s) your ritual comes from.

Most specify, though "general" ones do not.
