I was going to make a few potions for rainy day but I don't have much so I thought I would just use some wild flowers for some basics I found some white bell flowers with a purple dot in the middle and I am not sure what they would be used for so if you have any information it would be most helpful ****blessed be*****

The type of flower might be a type of Rhododendron, I think. Rhododendrons are sometimes used to relieve pain, so I don't know if this has been any help to you.

I would advise against using any plant that you are unfamiliar with. Doing so could result in illness, or in worst case scenarios, death. If you want to know what it is though, try looking up this flower in books, internet searches, and by taking it to a local plant nursery. By triple checking your sources, you should be able to at least discover what it might be and if it is poisonous. Something else to keep in mind, you can use dried herbs ( such as basil, parsley, etc) in your potions. Most of these herbs you can find readily available in the spices section of your local grocery store. You could also use herbal teas for potion brewing.

potions, just like magick, should not be done just to serve their own purpose. I wanted to say that you shouldn't do anything just for the sake of doing it. You should do it with a purpose in mind, a proper goal. After that you need to prepare in accordance with your goal.

It is as if you decided to study for an exam, and on the day of study you found out that you have no books.

Aside from what has already been said, if you are looking for some books to help get you started, I would suggest the following: Herb Magic for Beginners: Down-to-Earth Enchantments ~ Written by Ellen Dugan and The Complete Book of Incense, Oils, and Brews ~ Written by Scott Cunningham. Both books contain a lot of great info on herbs and what they can be magically used for. If you can get teas and dried herbs, as previously suggested, you could use the books as references to help you make your potions.
