Invoking a muse. Help?

I want to invoke Euterpe(the muse of lyrical poetry and music). I have done my research on her for the past few days and I still don't know what to offer her. I though about doing a drawing of her playing the lute. Is that a good idea?

Ah, you meant literally. I think a drawing would serve as a good connection, perhaps even a small altar.

I agree with PeyoteCoyote. To invoke the muse you should set up an altar honoring Euterpe and her skills. Include a picture or drawing of her, a flute or other musical instrument, poetry books that you love, and anything else that inspires you while honoring her.

Any style really. If you're into chamber music and 18th century poets, that's it. If you're into something more modern that works too. The point is energy, whatever raises your energy and connects with the muse will work and that's proper homage for her.

In some religious traditions including Paganism, Shamanism and Wicca, "invocation" means to draw a spirit or Spirit force into ones own body and is differentiated from "evocation", which involves asking a spirit or force to become present at a given location.
