Harry Potter

It would seem that many young people (even a few adults!) fail to realise that Harry Potter is fiction. It is not, repeat not, real! The books and the movies are for entertainment. They are simply that. As are the many TV shows such as Charmed. The Vampire Diaries, even the old show Bewitched. The people in these shows are actors, characters of fiction. It is amazing that many people actually believe it is all real! Great entertainment it is! Reality it isn't! Real magic has nothing in common with Harry Potter!

What do you mean by "it has"? Do you mean that Harry Potter really does have something in common with real magic? J.K. Rowling wouldn't know real magic if it jumped up and bit her! Everything about Harry Potter is fiction.

Some things have traces of real magick.

I've seen things on Charmed that are actually real ways of practicing magick, not all of it and not a lot of it, but a tiny bit is somewhat real.

Harry Potter is a great series, but the system of magic that she uses is completely created by her. The creatures are real things, at least she didn't make all of them up. She took them from myths and legends and stuff.

Good shows and movies, but not a good teacher of magick.

Yes, it is easy for script writers to put in some of the real rituals, there is plenty to find on the internet. So they do now and again write in little bits, candles, etc. Nevertheless, the aim is to entertain, not to teach magic. And sometimes, often in fact, fantasy takes over. Remember, it is entertainment only; not real!

Its quite sad what Hollywood and TV shows have done.... its made people prefer a 1st rate fantasy to a 2nd rate reality,

Stick with the old reliable books ;)
