Pagan is an umbrella term for any religion not Christian, Jewish, or Muslim. (Webster's definition) Wiccan is someone who practices Wicca, a neo-pagan religion. Witchcraft is a skill.

hate to go against you here on Crimson, but witchcraft is actually a practice, and in many cases a religion all it's own. other than that you are correct on the pagan and wiccan deffinitions

i agree with you on the practice thing, Silver, I appreciate the correction. But I'm having a hard time with the concept that witchcraft is a religion all its own. In the word witchcraft there is "craft" a practice or skill, if you will. I understand that many religions practice witchcraft, along with their path and personal dieties.

sorry it took me so long to reply back to this, but yes crim you are right. It's a matter of who you talk to on the matter. Some believe that witchcraft is a religion all it's own while others believe that it's a skill, personally I'm with you on this one, in saying that witchcraft is a skill not a religion

Pagan comes from the Latin word Paganus, which means country-dweller. Since Pagan's original definition was country-dweller and those in the country worship spirits of nature, the term Pagan has come to mean any religion that honors nature. That includes but is not limited to, Wicca, Hellenism, Hinduism, Shintoism, and some may argue Satanism.
Wicca is a religion, which was started somewhere around 1950(I think) by Gerald Gardner. Although Wicca is a relatively younger religion, it's practices and beliefs date back to Greece, Roman, and the Celtics. Wicca is a sometimes classified as a neopagan religion, meaning a new Pagan religion.
Witchcraft is the practice of magick. It encompasses prayer and spellwork. Witchcraft is often viewed as a religion of its own. However most if not all religions have some type of witchcraft in them. Training an animal or making an herbal tea from scratch can also be classified as witchcraft.
