I'm quite new here looking for spiritual advice and guidance about a life long desire I hold and don't know whether to embrace or not..? Any advice and insight welcome.

Without any information about your "desire," I'm afraid it will be hard to give you good advice. But, if it is something you have been wanting to do your entire life, I don't see any reason not to, within reason.
