Cursed object

My daughter has a wooden dresser she has had for a few years.
All of a sudden, scratches and gouges have appeared on it. X's and marks that are "almost"' legible writings. She has also had very strong bad feelings around it.
Only she and her fiancé live there. No kids have access.
Any ideas what is going on?
Thanks for any help...spells...etc.
Blessed Be

Get rid of it and if it stops you from doing that, contact your deity to help you.

Maybe a cleansing spell would work and protection spell just to be sure. And I agree as well contacting your Deity for guidance.

I got that.
It won't let us get rid of it.
Looking for some specifics that have worked for others.
I have cleansed houses, and other objects, but never with this much physical manifestation.

Although I am new here, and to the field of magic(k) in general, I know that with a lot of possessions, or possible possessions, a good thing to do is to use your faith.
By that, I mean that if you are willing to attempt to combat it (probably not a great idea if it has held out and physically affected the object itself) you could at least trap it and the box within a salt circle, or with holy water. To have a magic(k)al symbol to use similar to that of a cross would work, as well, if you needed to ward them away.
If you don't want to fight it yourself, I am sure that any church nearby would have priests that are trained to exorcise such objects, and I would guess for free or for a small donation. After all, a lot of churches are intended to save souls, and preventing harm to your daughter and fiance would be a part of that.

I suggest burning white sage and using black candles around it and asking for angel assistance I might have a spell from Silver RavenWolf on ending spells you did. Which I can give you If you like I also suggest throwing it out getting rid of it like what the others say. Also I suggest doing research on its history. Just send it love as well it's helped me escape from the shadows just don't think about it the shadows. Don't show it fear at all. I hope I helped at all

Are you sure she didn't do it herself or someone else got a halt to it? Kids can be sneaky. Plusif there is a spirit then they could be attached to thedresser or there is something in there that the spirit might be attracted or attached too? Don't get rid of it right away because some spirits might come back and worsen your life for it. Almost like a form of disrespect; if its not already. Try a cleansing/banishing ritual and take it from there. Also keep in mind the possibilities and that it may not be a spirit either. If there is, then find out why they're there.

My daughter is 21. She lives 5 1/2 hours from me.
She is not doing it herself and neither is her fiancé.
She has tried to get rid of it and something has always come up...some emergency or other to keep them from taking it away.
I have cleansed homes and exorcised other evil.
I have never seen such a physical manifestation.
Thank you all for your suggestions.
I have figured it out what I have to do.
I will update on how things go after I take care of it.

For now, I have told her to put salt on the top with pennies on that until I can get to her place.
Again, thank you for all the suggestions.
Blessed be
