There are many threads on the basics under General info. All you need to do is search the site , Not trying to sound rude or harsh here "but" if you intend to get anywhere with study and practicing it takes effort on your part also. Go out and do some research yourself , people will respect you more if you have made an effort then ask questions about something your not sure about.

I agree with koot. Most of your learning will be on your own, as nobody on here will spoon feed you. Try typing in the search bar at the top or in google or YouTube.

Good luck and blessed be.

You need to know certain things first if you seriously wish to learn magic by using this site. Since you are new, I recommend that you go to the following links:

Newbie Central: http://www.spellsofmagic.com/newbie_central.html

SoM Survival Guide: http://www.spellsofmagic.com/coven_ritual.html?ritual=1944&coven=1

Afterwards, you should search for and join coven on this site that appeals to your interests and what you wish to learn.

People these days don't have time to personally teach you. That is why covens on this site were created.

To answer your question, yes, you should, otherwise the spell would not work in the way you desired.

The basics are the following:
-Meditation
-Visualization
-Energy Manipulation
-Correspondences

Good luck and blessed be.
